    No restore point creation

My Windows Vista Basic has stopped creating scheduled restore points. There hasn't been a scheduled creation for over 2 weeks.
I ran out of disk space once and so IT Deleted the last restore point as well. However, since then i have over 8 gb of space on my windows disk, and still no restore point.
There isn't any malware, and the drive is checked for creation of restore points in system protection. Also, there isn't any error indicated in the event viewer.

I need to install Vista SP2,But I need the restore point. It is disabled-group policy(I know how to activate it). What I want to know is why Vista won't create a restore point? Thanks for the help.

As i said,I don't have a problem creating a restore point(I know how to get past the group policy disable).
What I want to know is why isn't Windows creating restore points at regular intervals.

    try this.....
diable system restore by unchecking the lil box then do a system drive clean via windows
under more options clean-up the system restore points then click ok.
then do a restart.the enable the system restore points by checking the lil box then click apply and ok.and then make a restore point.
then if u wish to try to do the restore to see if it works.it shouldnt do any harm becoz its a fresh restore point. hope this helps!
