Good OS
A OS in Browser like Google Chrome OS
Google Gadgets
Enjoy a desktop full of live, personalized data
Google Picasa with WINE 1.0
gOS 3.1 pre-installs WINE 1.0, which makes it capable of running some Windows software. For example, Google Picasa for Linux runs like it does on Windows thanks to WINE 1.0.
Google Mail and Calendar
Easy to use mail and calendar programs that are totally web-based so you can take it anywhere

Google Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations
Great web-based office suite that can open Microsoft Office document formats and PDFs
3D Window Switcher
Special desktop effects make gOS 3.1 even cooler and more fun to use

Google Desktop Search
Find files fast with desktop search

Mozilla Firefox
The world's best web browser

Open Office
A full productivity suite for when you're offline or need advanced functions

gOS is not Google's Operating System, fyis. And Bray, that was the point behind it if I remember right. Make a Mac-like Linux OS. Though despite it's name, has it's own run of trouble. 2.X had updating issues, and considering it's a rebranded Ubuntu (yes, that's it's core), you could do all this and more with a stock install of Ubuntu as well as controlling your installed programs.
Overall, I give it a 7/10 on the Linux scale, if you're looking for something Mac-like for cheap, go for it. It's about the only use I like of it. Mint's no better imo. I stick to the stock install of Ubuntu and install it/ customize it to my own extents.

Google Wave? Sounds like surfers would like that.
And remember Ceyfer, to each their own. I might like Ubuntu best, but my opinion of gOS is just that

I'm an ex-surfer...I prefer real waves to 'iWaves'.

I'm 2nd of four generations in my family to surf 'the west coast'. When my mother started, there were less than 200 surfers in all of Hawaii, far fewer in California! This January, my niece's eldest daughter (19 year old) took First place in 'Womens' at the Doheney contest (biggest contest in California!).
