Need help for display problem

I got a old pc with Operating system as windows 98 and my monitor suppor only 600*800 resolution but one of my friend increased the resolution and now the screen goes black. do any body have solution for this

Start the computer and then start hitting F8 until you see a menu. Select Safe Mode.
Once you are in Windows "Safe Mode", right click on desktop and select Properties.
Go to Settings and click Apply and OK.

Restart your computer and you should be able to get in back to normal Windows.
Do take note that doing this will reset your display to 640 x 480.
Again, right click on desktop, select properties. Go to Settings and this time set it to 800 x 600.
