I found this article on Ghacks today.
its an interesting article and i really freed up some unnecessary disk space using methods given there.

Disbaling hibernation...nope not for me. I do use hibernation at times and I find it a useful feature...espeially for laptops.
Reducing the size of the pagefile...again with consequences you have to know of before you make the change.
What I do is to reduce the amount 'reserved' by recycle bin as I don't really use Recycle Bin often...another is to reduce System Restore size but again this comes with thoughtful thinking...not recommended unless you know exactly what you're doing...
And oh yes, if you have a Windows disc with you, I find that using nlite/vlite to remove other únneeded'languages from the disc helps to reduce the installed size of Winodws...heck, perhaps around 7GB (roughly)...They call me the mysterious one...
