How to backup wireless networks?
as the title says, How to backup wireless networks?
Surely someone has formatted or upgraded their OS and did a back up.
Ive been asking this question quite some time and no one was able to answer it.
I found this application http://www.techyard.net/backup-and-r...less-migrator/ but it always freezes, it doesnt seem to work though it has 11,000 download.
Anyhelp? I was hoping Raymond could post a new topic for this as it would help a lot of people around the world.
I mean, I have been doing this on my windows phone for the past 2 yrs. One click backup, one click restore. For more info, the app is called SASHIMI using Makisu.
If it is done on a windows phone, I am sure it can be done on a COMPUTERLast edited by bteljuice; 05-13-2010 at 06:12 PM.

Yes, you are correct. it does say Vista only. But thought id back it up on my vista and try to restore it on w7. But doesnt seem to work at all.
What if you have 10 wifi connections? How do you restore them? How do you get them all back to your new OS? I have the following wifi: Home,office1, office 2, university 1,university 2, parents house, starbucks, second cup, and various other restaurants. I really cant remember all usernames and password. And would be extremely annoying to bother myself in every place i usually go to, to re-configure them.
Plus, there MUST be a way. If it can be done on my windows based phone, HTC TP2, then I am sure there must be a way. Its a matter of someone chiming in.
Thank you Tangomouse for replying.Last edited by bteljuice; 05-14-2010 at 12:48 AM.

I've never heard of any way how to myself, but that would be me.... I doubt Raymond has as well, but I can't speak on behalf of him.
The only ways I've remembered is by taking a screenshot of my passwords as I put them in. That's it really.

Apparently, it doesn't seem like you are the only one who's having problems with the Wireless Migrator program. Anyway, here's the developer's site:
http://khason.net/blog/backup-and-re...elessmigrator/
There, you would find a way to do it using command line prompt. However, if you have problems with doing that and you are using Windows 7, there's a different approach you may want to try:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/4081/...-in-windows-7/
Hope that helps.

Yes, this is where I found the download from.
This is to backup in W7. What I am trying to do is backup in VISTA and restore in W7.
Thank you safeguy and Hellnoir for your input. I really appreciate it. I hope someone can come up with something like that as It is very important for Vista user who are intending to upgrade or to format.
Anyhow, I guess my only option is as Hellnoir suggested. Reveil the password of every single wifi network and write it down on a paper or notepad and retype them.
Thank you
