I'm not sure if I understand you correctly.

It sounds as if you are referring to your hard disk. Do you get any error messages? Do you get a system reboot or is it just the application that restart?

could be you dont have enough power to handle running it all maybe if you try unplugging some nonessential stuff or test it with a power supply from another PC that has more power

well, i have a 420 watt power supply and only one 20gig hd, and one dvd drive, so, even if that was the case i don't have anything to unplug. i have put different hd's in with different operating systems and still the same result everytime. when i first got it, it never did anything of the sort, but for some reason, it does now. i also have 512mb RAM, AmdAthlon xp 1.8GHZ processor.

Edit #1: Since i have tried different hd's with different os's, it has to be something with the bios. And reffering back to Odie it is just an instant system reboot. realtek sound and LAN is through is onboard.

If you think it is your BIOS you can reset it by taking the battery out for 20 sec.

I would also check the heat sink on the CPU

everytime i am in the bios settings i usually check out the temps, and the CPU is always just above 50 degrees Celcius. i don't know if that is bad, but it seems to be fine

Edit #1: if the BIOS needs to be reset, then alls i have to do is figure out how to get it out, what if i go over 20seconds, does it make a diff., or no matter?

i am usually able to start the OS, but sometimes for some reason, i have to keep open the dvd drive so it doesn't try to speed up on me and restart. ill try to get the battery out, which has been kinda hard every time i try, seems to be in there pretty good
