Blank desktop after few minutes login

Hi all hope it ok to post here but my computer has a blank desktop after i login into my computerit shows then all dissapears and left with a screen showing the background. can anyone help?

You get nothing at all? Not even the start menu? Try hitting CTRL + SHIFT + ESC simultaneously. That should launch Windows Task Manager.

Go to File > New Task (Run...) > Type explorer.exe

You should also see if the same thing occur at Safe Mode. Refer to this article on how to boot to Safe Mode.

It may be any virus. Raymond has suggested you right!

If still problem, then re-install windows.

hi there,
it seems to be a virus as my cousin has the same problem,
was sent a folder from someone who he trusted to recive things from in msn, opened file
and then next restart desktop screen goes blank few minutes after logging in.

I had did a deep system scan with my virus software (bitdefender) before this had happend and it returnd back with no viruses on ma computer.

What Happens:
I Login then computer loads shows icons and taskbar,
then after a few minutes icons and taskbar dissaear and im only left with the background displayed on my screen.

If i sit watching my computer and manage to click on an icon i can get a programe started.
Help pls anybody
