    Modem whoes

It has been a while now that my Huawei E220 modem has been testing my patience and at this moment it is only you guys who can save it from being struck with a 16lb hammer.

When I tried to connect to the Internet today it gave me the error:

    Runtime error 6:
    Overflow

Now my antagonism towards it is also busy to overflow. Does anybody have a better solution than a 16lb hammer?
I refuse to tip toe through life only to arrive safely at death

    Compatibility Issues

A number of software compatibility issues are know to exist with the E220 USB modem. This is mainly related to CD Writing software, software that creates virtual CD-ROM drives Compatibility Issues with Huawei E220 USB Modem and with Microsoft ActiveSync. Also early versions of the firmware and vodafone connect software are incompatible with Microsoft Windows Vista. This has been remedied in later updates.

    Driver download :

    If brave, upgrade/reinstall firmware.

P.S: As far as I know, such overflow errors are caused in VB

Thanks prashanthpai. I don't have any CD burning software installed and un-installed Deamon tools some time ago. The firmware is up to date. I did, however, downloaded and installed Messenger 2009 yesterday. Do you think it might have something to do with that?

Does your modem have a " restore defaults" or " restore cable modem" feature?Maybe you can try that.

@ Clyde1: Nothing like that available.

What I don't understand is that the thing used to work until yesterday. One of the links Joel provided suggested Virus. I installed KAV 2009, ran HiJackThis and AnVir Task Manager but could not find anything except that KAV killed some of my favorite play things . Please guys, I'm on a 460Kbps connection and ready to commit suicide. Could it be that the *!^#$@&%# thing just reached the end of its life span and that I realy should help it out of its missery?
