    Cool Increasing IE7 browsing speed

    Good morning
I have a question on tweaking the registry default to 10. When I read this on one of the web pages I thought maybe this would help my browsing speed.

Trick to Increase Internet Explorer Speed

    1. Go to Start –> Run and type regedit
    2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER –> Software –> Microsoft –> Windows –> Current Version –> Internet Settings
    3. Increase the values (DECIMAL) from default to a higher value e.g. 10

See the difference in speed of IE

I'm just new at this and only want to make sure when I find internet setting in the registry I simply delete the (Default) word and replace it with e.g. 10 or just the number 10. I did notice that on that same line on the right side it say no value set I'm sure that the number does not go there due to this area will not high light to replace the info in that spot. This is probably a no brainer but like I said I'm just checking with your expertise first before I do something that maybe I'm not doing correctly.

    Thank you

Why don't you just switch to a faster browser?

Opera (the best in my opinion; very fast)

    Mozilla Firefox (fast and extendible)

    Google Chrome (better than IE)

Double click on Default and enter 10 in the Value Data field.
