Burn movies from camera recorder to a dvd?

Hello everyone, my parent asks me how to burn movies from camera recorder's SD mermory card to a dvd to play it on a dvd player. I don't own a camera recorder, so I have no idea.
Do I need a special software to do it?

    Thank you.

So you only have the SDcard but not the camera recorder...
If you have a card reader, insert the SDcard and see what format are the files.

Try DVD Flick I got this a while back but I never got around to trying it.
stick the card in the camera, connect the camera to the computer.
Then just have to find out how to use DVD Flick.

Do you know the camera recorder model? If yes, you can try searching on the internet and see what format does it records to.
