how to properly stop the process

The easiest way for you to bypass the "the device cannot be stopped right now" message is to install Unlocker 1.8.5 by Cedrick 'Nitch' Collomb. After you've installed the program, right-click on the Removable Drive and select "Unlock". Now you won't have trouble properly removing the flash disk from your computer.
