Hi Ray do u know how to install Windows XP from a removable drive like Flash Disk, i often burn a new Windows XP CD because it's heavily scratched & unreadable, i use the CD to reinstall or repair my customer Windows XP alot so i think maybe its more efficient if i can install it from a removable drive that cant be scratched & has more transfer speed better than CD, coz sometime i get a customer that doesn't have a CD or DVD drive or the CD 0r DVD drive are broken and cannot be use anymore.

I FOUND THIS LINK IN XXXXXXXX.NET WHICH I THINK IS USEFUL...

Ever want to boot up into Windows XP via a USB memory key? Well, now you can…
This is a miniature version of Win XP Just enough to get your up and running so you can restore from backup, access your files, or do whatever you have to do.

Also go to your BIOS setting and change the BOOT sequence. Removable drive or something should be at the top then try to reboot your PC.

    Download
    File size:60mb

    Code: [Link removed]

Installing Windows from USB flash drive is not a good idea. I've tested it and it is VERY VERY VERY, let me say it again, VERY SLOW! The best is still to install from CD.

Ow... too bad, i thought that it would be easier, more effective & reliable because u never know if the cd is readable until u insert it to ur client old CD/DVD-ROM. That why i would like to try installing from UFD if its possible. Not to mention if the clients computer doesnt have any optical drive.... Anyway thanks 4 the advice.

One more thing, how about installing it from external USB HDD?? Is that possible too? Is it slow too?

Installing from external USB HDD is the same. You're going through USB connection.

    Wouldn't firewire 800 be a better solution?
