To tell everyone, HP has already bought Compaq, so there is no chance of quailty and warranty difference between the two.

I would recommend that you should go for a Dell and if you can't have Dell, then go for HP .Simple :)

The best High performance model that fits well in the budget is DELL XPS M 1530

Thanks..

Is Intel Wireless good?I heard broadcom is better. What do you think?

I am thinking of buying a notebook with built in a/b/g/n or should I buy only a/b/g only? Can I replace the a/b/g in future with a/b/g/n?

This purchase of notebook is very important for me as I never had a laptop in my life due to the past financial incapability. So, now that I am financially stronger and with delayed target of buying a notebook for myself for about 3 years, I want to make sure that this purchase must be excellent.

You should get the one with a/b/g/n.

IEEE 802.11n is a proposed amendment to the IEEE 802.11-2007 wireless networking standard to significantly improve network throughput over previous standards, such as 802.11b and 802.11g, with a significant increase in raw (PHY) data rate from 54 Mbit/s to a maximum of 600 Mbit/s.

You won't want to miss that...

Yes even though hp has bought compaq,
compaq is lowerend version where as hp pavillion is higher end one
just like
inspiron is lower end and xps is higher end in case of Dell.

I agree with Lenogris that Dell XPS 1530 is the best choice that you can take.

Send a message via AIM to NinjaRicer
I'd think I'd get either a Macbook, IBM ThinkPad, Dell XPS, or a good Dell with some high ass specs.
