My monitor (Acer 20" W) came with an optional DVI cable. I heard its sharper than a VGA cable.

So how do I set it up? Do I keep both VGA and DVI cables plugged in the back of my monitor?

I'm clueless about the whole situation. Help me!

If I am not wrong, you do not need to plug in the VGA cable if you want to connect via DVI cable.

Just use the DVI cable like you use the VGA cable.. but if your PC doesnt have a DVI slot, you need to buy a VGA-DVI adapter or a card which has a DVI slot

You only need the one DVI cable if you want to plug it in the DVI slot
