No, not at all. There's also Avast and AVG for Linux but again, not really needed.

It only majorly comes in handy when you do like I do, dual boot and download EXEs under Linux so you get better speed. Then, to make sure it's safe for Windows, you'd scan it.

AVG does not offer the GUI as promised on Fedora.
OpenSuse works pretty well with Avira Antivir.
If using a mail server or POP: Clamav with Clamtk (for GNOME) is very effective , but very slow.
Use Dazuko if you want real time ; but it's a pain getting it to work.

I'm pretty sure AVG is command line only for all distros, but considering it's poor detection, I would figure it would be best to use something else.

Avira Antivir works for any distro, Ubuntu too. And as for ClamAV... don't get me started on how piss poor it does in detection

Avira is SUSE forum recommended and ClamAV is Fedora forum recommended. I have not seen a slower antivirus app than ClamAV my entire life - beats Mcafee hands down

If you want to integrate your AV service with real time detection - use Dazuko. But you need to recompile a lot of stuff. For mail scanners you can use the Avira AV too.

I read somewhere ClamAV beat all other AV solutions hollow on linux distros at detection. I guess 'false' detects @hellnoire

Lastly, you don't need AV protection really. It's not being complacent on linux systems; but if you have your AppArmor or SELinux enabled ; you are good. Use an offline scanner like Avira if you want ; to keep your windows partition safe.

Indeed, that would be about the size of it. And ClamAV, beating an another AV? Maybe MS's but certainly not any others. It's junk, imo!

As for the others, I don't bother with an AV under Linux, since I use NOD32 under Windows. If it's infected, I wipe and reload
