PLoP Boot Manager
Hi
The PLoP Boot Manager is a small program to boot different operating systems. You can boot the operating systems from harddisk, floppy, CD/DVD or from USB. You can start the boot manager from floppy, CD, network and there are many more ways to start the boot manager. You can install the boot manager on your harddisk. There is no extra partition required for the boot manager.
PLoP is a powerful boot manager. PLoP Boot Manager has an interesting feature that lets you protect the MBR from changes. If another software change the entries in the MBR, the boot manager detects this change at the next startup and allows you to choose if you want to import the new values or forget them.
---It can boot OS from CD/DVD without BIOS support
---It can boot from USB without BIOS support
---No extra partition is required for the boot manager
---Different profiles for operating systems
---Define up to 16 partitions
---It allows the administrator to hide partitions to keep other users unaware of the existence on another installed system
---Password protect the computer and the boot manager setup
---Backup of partition table data
---Start boot manager in Text or Graphics mode
---Supports graphic user interface up to a resolution of 1280x1024
---Allows editing of MBR partition table

PLoP Boot Manager is compatible with Linux boot loaders like GRUB, LILO, Syslinus and Windows operating system.
For older laptop that doesnt have a cd/floppy drive or the BIOS doesn’t support booting from a USB device, then Plop can solve this problem.

ha14, I noticed the link that has nothing to do with PloP at the end of the post.
Remember one of the rules here is no spamming/advertising.
Let this be a warning to you.

Oh god, Ha14, of all things to post, you post this
. As a GRUB/GRUB2 user, I've been using it successfully for all my years of Linux. I used LILO for a bit when I was trying Zenwalk, but that never stuck. But this... it's supported resolution is too small for both my laptop and for my desktop. Might be worth a look later, but to also replace the boot manager can be a bit of work for those that haven't got a clue of the how-to of a Linux boot. I'm not sure how to do it myself, but I'm sure I'll learn if I try it.

PLoP is very impressive as I've never seen anything like it.
You can use PLoP to boot up via USB or CDROM when your mainboard is too old to have that feature.

Thanks for the info on Plop. I now use the cd version to give the option of booting up 2 separate OS on 2 different HDDs.
