Airtel won't(and also can't) help you with that. Because the one who stole your mobile will have replaced your sim card with another.

Just file a complain in your nearby police station. They will hand over your issue to cyber crime branch who will trace the mobile by its IMEI.

Geeks never die. They just go Offline.

I still am not sure if one can block phone using its imei no. there are programs if i am not mistaken able to unlock, locked phones. reporting it to the police would be great though i doubt it would do any help.. but its better that way..

Sorry to say yes. Police won't look after it seriously unless its really a costlier one. So the chances of getting it back is 1 in 100 percent.

What i am coming to say is "you should prevent it from unauthorised usage". Just imagine if the mobile goes to any terrorist? Then you will be facing a great problem. To prevent this just do this.
    1) Call Airtel and ask them to block the sim card. They will do it and will provide you with a new sim card.

    2) Go to the nearby police station and complain that your mobile is lost.
complaining to police will not retrieve your mobile, but you can stay protected even if the phone is used illegally, since you have already complained about it.
Hope you understand what i am coming to say.
