    netstat...

I just want to ask how to stop an 'established state' ip address. I used netstat -anp tcp to see ip addresses connecting to my computer. If it's established because of an open browser, its easy to 'kill'. But if it's because of a software update, I don't know what to do especially if I don't know which software is updating.

You can use System Explorer software to do that. In Monitoring/Connections tab you can see some process or program have some connections. If you want to kill one, you look at PID column to know number then switch to Process tab. Look at PID column and then kill process. http://wareseeker.com/Utilities/syst....zip/2157e24dc
