Cross Cable Internet Sharing

HI


I have two PCs connected together with cross over cable
first i config the Pcs for sharing and make them in the same
Workgroup . Ihave Two Problem



For the sharing,from Pc 1 i can see the shared file
for Pc 2 but from Pc 2 if i try to find shared file for Pc 1
error message appear 192.168... Not Accessible
you may not have permission to use this network
resource .so i try to view my workgroup and
the two PCs are there but the same message
when i try to view Pc 1 content from Pc 2

And for the internet also not work


So Please any help will be good because i spent three
days searching in google and nothing

I presume you used the network wizard to set up the connection. Did you turn on file and printer sharing during the setup? Do you log in as an administrator? Is the connection allowed in your firewall?

this appear an authentication problem. You need to create a user with the same password on both pc to avoid sharing problems.

Other similar problem appear when a network beetwen 2 pcs, one with Vista and other with XP, do not work properly due to absence of Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder (KB922120) in XP machine.

If you're trying to share an Internet, you'd need to configure ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Have you done that?

my firewall allowed the connection between the two PC
and Os is windows xp in both PCs and for Printer sharing
is setup and i am not using the admin user but i have user
have the right like admin

For ICS i didn't do it i connect the two PC directly with the cross cable
no HUB ,Switch,Router between the PCS,i just wont to share the internet
between my Laptop and on PC

If wAnt, then you need to enable ICS in order to share internet via cross cable.

a gain , i use network wizard to create my network
during the setup i shared my dialup connection
so i think the ICS is enabled
