Ghosting and deployment windows xp sp3
Hi all
I知 just wondering if I can get some help here? I知 trying to clone windows xp sp3 and deploy it over the network using two mechanisms deployment, first mechanism is windows server 2008 and the second mechanism is clonezilla Linux.
I have managed to sysprep the OS but I have misunderstanding here, I知 using Acronis true image to capture the OS and when I captured it I got (filename.tib), is it possible to deploy .tib image to another OS through the server??
Thanks

So you're trying to distribute .tib files? i suppose it could be possible, but does the other server have Acronis? it'd be nice to try and can't hurt that bad to try
but if the servers have any different hardware due to the way windows works, it'll deactive itself and re quire reactivation just to protect from people cloning it.

You're running the servers virtually? in that case why not just distribute the vmware image files?

yes that what was i thinking about it, i will make it clear for you!! what im trying to do is sysprep windows xp sp3 then ghost it, then deploy it over the network by using windows server 2008 and run it under VMware workstation v7.
what i already know is windows server 2008 deploy .wim files, but i dont know how to deploy .vmdk files or .tib?
thanks for your reply Brayden
