Windows Defender and KIS 09?
I was thinking of getting Windows Defender but would like your views.
1. Are there conflicts with KIS 09?
2. If number 1 does not have conflicts, do you think I should get Windows Defender for an extra layer of security or should I go with malwarebytes or KIS is just sufficient without extra layer of defences?
Thanks for your time.

Windows defender always got low scores on tests, i am not going to say KIs 09 is all you need, i am not a believer in putting all your marbles in 1 bag,i would get a spysweeper key from chickenlittle and run that along side KIS 09, spysweeper is one of the best antispyware programs and does not conflict with other security software, and if you are paranoid like me for good reasons, also run a behavior based malware remover,i personally use mamutu, but if you don't want to shell out for it get the free threatfire,it is very good to.

KIS can conflict with SpySweeper as i have them both, just disable Real time protection to make them work.

I can confirm that spysweeper does not have issues with KIS, as i ran them both with no problems ,the only compatibility issue i had ever been aware of with spysweeper was with NIS, but they have long fixed that problem.

KIS is all you need for resident protection, but if you want an extra anti-spyware program Malwarebytes' is good for on demand scans.

Consider the specialization of each Security apps
Windows Defender ( Realtime / On Demand Scanner )
KIS ( Security Suite -AV/Firewall/Prtoactive Modules...) Solid one!
though good in tandem - but there are better antispyware alternative mostly are on demand and lightware programs.
If ur just a home user and doesnt go to malwarevised sites and has a good computing habit then KIS is enough ~
Spysweeper issues* same here with KIS 8 ( sometimes the main cause is the availability of system resources / simply not meeting the right system requirements )

I don't know about KIS, but when I installed KAV 2009 on a XP SP3 computer with Windows Defender installed, KAV listed Defender under uncompatible software and it had to be removed.
