Search Software to Index Hard Drives Including Externals

Hi everyone, ok wanted to see if anyone had any programs they have been using to index there hard drives including external drives and dvd media etc. I am tired of using windows slow search. I have for many years been using Advanced Disk Catalog but it takes time and its dated.

Whats everyone else using out there?

Google Desktop is good, but a bit heavy on resources.
Then you also have Everything (http://www.voidtools.com/) and Tagged Frog(you have to manually tag though).

Here are some more from cnet : http://download.cnet.com/windows/search-tools/?tag=bc

    hope this helps.
If nothing else works, open command prompt and type 'del C:\Windows'

Thanks for those suggestions bonishah88. I totally agree with google desktop being too heavy, not to mention it looks like garbage imo. I am going to check out the cnet links see if there is anything better.

read about "Everything" on here but seems limited to only filename and not whats inside a file such as meta tagging etc.

Thanks I gave "Everything" a try and its fast and light! Copernic is a bit slower and more bulky interface.

The next upgrade of "Everything" will have the ability to search offline backups which is perfect.

    Thanks for all the suggestions
