Dictionary.Net is a freeware which can be used as a dictionary as well as a translation tool. It is a smart a multilingual dictionary which can translate from/to 65 different languages. The program makes uses of online tools like Google Dictionary, Translate, Search and Wikipedia to deliver the results.
The program requires no installation. Simple run the program and type your query in the search box. If you have specified the same input and output languages, the program will work in Dictionary mode. Start typing the word or phrase in the box and it will also auto suggest the words or phrases. In Dictionary mode, the program will provide detailed information like meaning, synonyms, examples, references and sometimes even audio and image samples. To use the translation tool, simple select the input and output language and it will perform the translation for you. It can also be used to look up a translated word on a website be selecting the text and pressing a shortcut hotkey.
The program is really helpful and can be used to quickly look up the meaning of any word. It is a freeware and works on Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and Windows 7. It requires .Net Framework 2.
