Do you want to wipe off Windows Vista and use Windows XP only? If yes, how did you do it?

Ah, this usually happens with HP Notebooks. I remember fixing the problem by going into the BIOS and turning off some option. Just can't remember the name of this option, rats. I'll report back as soon as I remember.

Got it! You should disable the native SATA support in your BIOS. Windows XP will now be able to read your hard disk. It'll only run if the option is disabled. That should do the trick, I'm 100% sure of it.

    Cheers, m8! :)

Oh yeah, just like SATA hard drives in desktop. You need to install additional SATA drivers or else it will say that your hard drive is not found.

    Thanks for reminding mEtRiX!

No problem, Raymond. I wouldn't know the solution to this problem if I didn't face it before when I was repairing my friend's notebook. The only problem with notebooks is that they don't have a floopy drive so when the Windows XP installation starts, the user is preety much stuck ( 'cause during the installation of additional SATA drivers, setup ask to insert a floppy disk in the drive A: ). It's best to just disable the SATA support in BIOS to bypass this problem. Anyway, I'm glad I could help. Cheers!

You can also use nLite and integrate the SATA driver you need into the Windows XP setup routine. That's the easiest way in my opinion because new laptops/computers don't have a floppy drive anymore.
