I have no idea how to find out what's the file type for an embedded image to Word. Why do you need to know the file type?

Oh, why don't you do a screen capture, save the picture in a compressed format (GIF or PNG) then embed it to word again.

Here is the process that may help:

    Do the following:

    1. Open the file
    2. Now, Save the file as Webpage, MS word allows you to save the file as HTML. The benefit of saving the file as webpage. MS word will place the pictures in separate folder.

    3. Hurry! Thats finish

    4. Now go to the location where you saved the file, and look for (Name)_files Folder. Here will be the pictures.
