It will better if you post more details about your Network Driver, run a quick diagnosis and post the details of the driver:

BTW You should not call it downgrading. It should be Upgrading from Vista to XP, because XP pwns Vista.

do you still have the manual that came with your computer and shouldn't the network controller be in network adapters, also if you have a factory partition then if you go through it carefully you might find the drivers you need, there is a good chance they are for vista but at least you will have the name of it so you can download it
and solaris you are totally right, changing from vista to xp is a upgrade

@ rj_alix
You can search in the Manufacturer's (Acer) website for your Model specifications and it should provide you with the informations like drivers, CHipsets. Use the details provided to download and install the drivers for XP.
@brayden and Solaris
Come on Guys, Vista is not that bad. OK it is slow but If you have the right hardware, It pwns XP. Believe me friends :D

After the vbulletin upgrade, lets have a poll: XP Vs Vista, and see who wins. Hahaha....

Well I think most people will vote XP better because many of them have not used Vista but have heard bad reviews about it. So they also have developed bad thoughst about Vista without using it actually. :D
Don't believe me? go here- www.mojaveexperiment.com and see the truth yourself.
But I still respect our dear friend Windows XP....

When you are not sure of the Driver, the best method is to use DriverForge. It will select and install the required Drivers from the driver packs. For this you will first have to download the software with the driverpacks and burn them to a cd. for a detailed review go to

- 09-09-2008 #8I've used Vista quite a bit because at school they have new computers running windows vista business, but the computers have poor performance because they are so slow, and take forever to do something.
