I am not sure if I should switch to the new Norton ISS 2009. I used McAfee for 2 years and it is okay. But I heard people are complained about Norton products during the last three years. I also tested the beta version from both vendors. Norton seems to have improved their products and McAfee is okay for now.

What are your opinions about this????

    Speeds, Firewall features, Scan, etc...

My only question for Norton: Does their firewall has a stealth mode likes McAfee products? I loved that feature because I can hide my info when I am using the internet.

norton has a better speed, firewall, scan than mcafee.

but im not sertain about the detection becouce mcafee has the new artmis for detection of viruses older than 1min to few sec while norton community watch detects viruses older than 5min to 15min. but if its norton ot mcafee its

    Norton.

Norton must be the choice compared to McAfee.
Norton firewall is very good and highly customizable. But I don't know what 'stealth mode' in McAfee is.
Norton 360 v2 has similar one called"Identity Safe"

I haven't tried 2009 yet but it's obvious that it's the best AV that Symantec ever created so far.

    Norton vs McAfee

Go for Norton. I guarantee you, Norton will protect your PC well. McAfee has lost its concentration on making its AntiViruses better because it is now mainly concentrating on making Enterprise Antiviruses.

Norton is way way better than McAfee especially Norton 2009 or Norton 360 V2. Symantec is continuously improving its products/

Well people, here is the comparison of all three Norton Protection Software:
    http://shop.symantecstore.com/store/...ThemeID.504200

But my recommendation is to go for Kaspersky.
Here is the Comparison of both Protection Software for Home Computer Security:
    http://usa.kaspersky.com/products_se...e-products.php

There is no comparison provided by Mcafee right now.

Choose the right one according to your needs.

I disagree :P No AV is perfect. The ONLY feature that I like about KIS is it's amazing virus detection engine and techniques like heuristic analysis - this is what it makes KIS one of the best AVs. The rest, I hate .. like the interface, it's permission setting for each software, analyzing new application application etc. It's a fact that there are loads of settings in KIS that makes it highly customizable. IMO, some features if KIS are as annoying as UAC :/

I know there's no perfect Antivirus. That's why I said- 'There is almost a perfect one--->Kaspersky Internet Security 2009'

Every antivirus has its own flaws but Kapersky has least, so I regard it a perfect.I don't know how others think. :D
