Updating .NET Framework
Hello,
I would like to update the .NET framework to 3.5 SP1.I have folders named
v1.0.3705,v1.1.4322,v2.0.50727,v3.0 in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework folder.
Should I do anything before updating? Is it possible to remove the older versions fromthe system? The OS Vista Home Basic SP1 32 bit.
Do people generally update .NET Framework?
Thanks!Last edited by Albin; 10-28-2008 at 12:47 AM.

you should be able to update the .net framework as usual, i don't update it often but you need it run certain programs.

You need not remove old versions. Install over it. I think it gets installed side by side and does not replace anything.
and I update it only when any software asks me that I need to update it.Happy To Help

prashanthpai is right. Just install over it and don't touch any of the files. Last time I uninstalled and could never get it reinstalled. I ended up reinstalling Windows

You can use net dot fix to automatically upgrade your NET Framework

Thanks,I have updated the .NET Framework. The bootstrap version was not able to download the update(39 MB) ,may be due to the proxy problems. So I used the full package(231 MB).Are the performance improvements observable?
