BitDefender Quickscan Beta [online scanner]

BitDefender QuickScan combines intelligent local scanning and in-the-cloud scanning to create an advanced online tool which detects e-threats in memory quickly.
QuickScan is very lightweight, requiring only a very small browser plugin for client-side tasks. Unlike other online virus scanners the engines don't need to be downloaded to your system and updated. Scanning of suspicious items is done remotely, at the push of a button, using the BitDefender Antivirus technologies.
BitDefender Quickscan is currently in Open Beta.
Features
- Detects running malware very fast (usually in less than 30 seconds)
- Detects hidden threats (rootkits) and keyloggers
- Runs online from any Internet connected PC
- Doesn't slow down your PC: most of the operations are performed remotely on the BitDefender servers
- Based on award wining BitDefender anti-malware technologies
- No need:
- to install software
- to update virus signature files
- to do any configuration tasks

I think it is pretty good for Normal PC users for quick checking about the state of the PC. NOT a replacement of Standard Antiviruses or Online scanners like VirusTotal

I couldn't get the ESET Beta scanner to run with Firefox. Got an error twice and gave up.
That must be about all it's looking for is a few registry keys or maybe system files. That's too fast IMHO to be very thorough.BitDefender

Without testing it (yet) I wonder if it removes what it finds or sends you off to the full online scanner or tries to get you into a subscription?

Runs fine on FF by me.The scan is very fast, but it doesn't show any files uploaded.Does it only upload if it finds something?-OK, never mind-revisited the home page-I think I've got the idea now.
