Panda Antivirus Pro 2010

This is just a minor review

I just installed Panda on my old box and it works fine, the installation file is huge 72mb but installation is smooth.




I never tested the True Prevent feature since I have limited 446 megs. There are 5 scan options the standards including vulnerabilty scan.The GUI is good,5 menu tabs and I like the color green ( biohazard ). Advance Proactive Protection comes in 3 layers = Unknown threat blocker,heuristic scanner and TruPrevent. The good thing about this AV is it bundled with Panda Personal firewall anyway you can set the firewall off via customize installation or Settings ( if its already installed ).







About to Pandas "IMPROVED! 80% reduced memory consumption" may sound true but it will alway be depends on your system hardware reqts. On my test it is almost as light as AVG Pro 8.5/ Eset 4 at some point but for some reasons it seems that it eats up more ram than i ever thought especially when other applications is running or while doing on-demand scan ( for CPU usage option you can fix this = Go to Preferences ->*check* CPU load management ).

I also tested its on-demand detection ( updated signature ) capability,using live malware test samples and it reach 97 percent detection rates and to check those missed samples they're blocked and quarantined by its proactive defence. Scanning speed is quite faster than the older version and its GUI reminds me of the old KAV 7

Well that's it. Good solid AV the major advantage of this Av is its TruPrevent feature that I've never tested yet.Still there are minor issues regarding with its ram usages but above 512megs Pc will definitely suffice.

I'm going to wait for more comprehensive test review at Av.Comparatives and other independent review sites to see how this new product competes with other top notch AV

i agree with u on the system requirments. but when ur on a 512+ u want notice any huge mem usage. at least not yet for me.

I´m using Panda IS 2010 on one computer at home and it works pretty well. I have another licence that I´m giving away, see my thread in the freebie forum.

Have you read the pcmag review on this suite? What do you think of it?
