    Hi,
    i also use KIS 2010 .... but once a week i do a check with Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware ( free ) or a-squared Anti-Malware ( licensed ) ( not hurt to do this ) .
Also for surfing is not bad if you use WOT or McAfee SiteAdvisor with Firefox .
    Best regards !

Depends...if you trust KIS to protect you enough..then there's no need for a real-time antimalware...

It doesn't hurt to have an on-demand anti-malware but remember not to overload your PC with too much....

Too much of a good thing can be bad...

And make sure it is compatible (KIS is known for being incompatible with some security software)

P.S. I'm not using KIS but if I do, I wouldn't use A-squared along with it. It's going to drain too much system resources if you do that...but it's your choice. I'm just telling as a friend.

That exactly what I am afraid of too much memory usage, but till now I did not know if KIS could alone protect against antimalware or not.

If memory is so big a problem that it plays such a big part in the av choice then ether you need more RAM, or just use a program like cleanmem which when ran on a schedule frees up memory from programs without decresing performance or any negative reactions at all.

do u now about the latest av test where kis2010 hardly got a A rank due to its lower detection rate and false positive. kis fails to maintain its standard as it previously did. so kis2010 will not be a safe option. if u have atleast 2gb of ram then use avira free as a on demand scanner this will totally protect you from latest threats..
