Or polymorphic viruses. These type of virus can change their code making the previous signature useless.

viruses are evolving very fast that anti-virus providers have to cope up with.

has to be one hell of a polymorphm to make it impossible to generate a sig. I would expect that polymorphs "always" have something in common.

Anyway, I think most people on this forum will live long enough to see the death of sig based scanning. HIPS is the way to go.

I don't like viruses at all, all they do is make your computer go very slow and stuffs them up unless you got your computer protected.

You still have Heuristic and Behavioral module to block that kind of threat.

If I'm not wrong, there are special malware authors that provide a service to create private Trojans for their 'customers'....you can 'buy' these private Trojans if you know where to get them...just like Raymond did.

These private Trojans claim to be undetectable by most AVs....but some very good AVs with heuristics set on can detect them...even if it's not on their signatures list. If you've read posts/reports by Raymond before, his collection of private Trojans were detected by Avira and Kaspersky most of the times...

That's why HIPS is a very useful tool that's included in most current AVs now...you can't depend on signatures alone anymore...

Makes me wonder... Do big security companies make their own malware for them to gain profit?
