    Registry Key Won't Delete

    Hey Everybody!
To the Moderators in advance: sorry if this is the wrong place to put this topic.

I have a registry key that won't delete or rename. It appears to be empty.
I already checked the permissions (right clicked the key...all items on 'allow') and am logged in as Administrator.

Is there any way to track the system hooks/software related to this Key?
I don't think it is malware, spyware, or a virus. Several antivirus/antispyware have labeled my system clean....but you never know.

Any ideas on how I can delete it? One source says it just might be damaged and immobile. Is there a way to track registry keys' path through your system.

    Running Windows XP.

    Thanks

First of all, why you want to delete that specific key ? Can you export the key ?

    Now to delete that key,
    1. try booting into safe mode and than deleting that key.
    2. change the permissions of its parent node.
    3. Try using some registry cleaning tools ( i would recommend Advanced system care)
    4. Use Regseeker or any other registry alternative tools.

    Hope this helps.
If nothing else works, open command prompt and type 'del C:\Windows'

Where is the registry key/data ?
    Is it in HKLM\system\controlset....\enum\root\Legacy_ ?
(with this u should right click the "root" to get permission & not the key)
