KAV and ZoneAlarm free 70-408 [for windows xp] issue

I am using Kav and zonealarm firewall free.
Using suites is passeee :P
Actually i found a weird gr8 behaviour on my pc.
1]Kav latest [7-0-0-125] is installed
2]Zonealarm free version 70-337 installed with no errors
3]now when I try to update Zonealarm free to version 70-408 [note not clean install]
4]After restarting Pc zonealarm has become full version ZoneAlarmPRO 70-408
hahahaha,God knows how :D. I hate pro version - too much intrusive heh

5]clean install brings an error and installation hangs then I have to clean the registry,use ccleaner,clean za temp files and install it through safe mode whew and after all that i find KAV doesnot load at startup and neither does it load even manually
6]I have found that zonealarm installs a mailfrontier scanner by default [unless ZA is installed in safe mode >admin account .Here one can cancel the mailfrontier installation] and this conflicts with kav protection modules.-

[A]go to mail frontier folder use unwise.exe to uninstall it,in the dialogue box type instmlf.log when asked for install.log and select the same from mailfrontier folder.Then restart pc,Then go to programs>kav>modify,repair or uninstall .select modify or repair and kav becomes fully active again
[b]If you use a reputed antivirus full version and keep it updated regularly,go to ZoneAlarmFree >preferences>E-mail protection >switch it off and also switch off the anti-virus monitoring feature of ZA as no matter which antivirus one uses,ZA shows no antivirus detected and points you to use their antivirus [gr8 advertising gimmick :P]


I have uninstalled it and using 337 at present ,as soon as my exams get over in nov I will update the forum on this matter [ after fiddling with other versions and lotsa googling and discussions, hehe]

Actually I posted this after having a small discussion with Raymond on the blog comments on the topic for kaspersky. :D

I just WANTED to bring the attention to FreeBiers like me that zonealarm free can to turned into Pro without paying for it :D but more testing is required heh maybe some coding error by the ZA programmers.

It's just weird that Free can turn into PRO version using the method above :P I must try it one day.
