Rogue Security Program Lists
WARNING ! DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT
-----------------------------------------------------
AntiSpyware 2008 is a rogue anti-spyware program from the developers as Antivirus 2009. This program is advertised through misleading and deceptive web sites that pretend to be malware scanners that find infections on your computer. They do this to scare you into thinking your infected, even though a web site can't possibly know this, in the hopes that you will download and install the AntiSpyware 2008 program. If you decide to install it, the program will scan your computer and come back with a list of security risks found on your computer that you cannot remove unless you first purchase a license of the software. It is important to remember that these people are preying on your fear and for the most part you do not have the infection they say you do.

XP Antispyware 2009 is a rogue anti-spyware program from the same family as XP Antivirus 2008. Just like its predecessor, XP AntiSpyware 2009 is advertised and promoted through the use of fake online anti-malware scanners and malware that displays fake security alerts on your computer. Both the online scanners and the malware state that your computer is infected and that you should download and install XP Antispyware 2009 in order to clean and protect your computer.

Antivirus 2010 is a rogue anti-spyware program from the same family as Antivirus 2008 and Antivirus 2009. Like its previous incarnations, Antivirus 2010 is advertised through the use of advertisements on the Web pretending to be online anti-malware scanners. These advertisements pretend to scan your computer and then state that your computer is infected and that you should download and install Antivirus 2010 to remove these infections. These rogues are also known to be advertised and installed through Trojans that display fake security alerts in your Windows taskbar stating you are infected. Once you click on one of these alerts, it will bring you to the download page for Antivirus 2010, or even download and install it without your permission.

eAntivirusPro is a rogue anti-spyware program that uses misleading claims and pop-ups on the web to advertise their product. Once installed, this program will scan your computer and list a variety of malware that cannot be removed unless you first purchase the software. These programs, though, are all fake and are only being shown to scare you into purchasing the software. Another problem associated with eAntiVirusPro is that while it is running, you may find that your computer is running slower than normal. This is because the program is using up resources that other legitimate programs could be using, and therefore causing these legitimate programs to not operate as efficiently as they could.

--
RapidAntivirus is a rogue anti-spyware software from the same family as Antivir64 and Power Antivirus 2009. Like its predecessors, RapidAntivirus is advertised through the use of pop-ups shown when visiting certain sites. These pop-ups state that your computer is infected and that you should run an anti-malware scanner. If you click on the pop-up you will be brought to a page that shows an advertisement pretending to be an online anti-malware scanner. Once this advertisement is finished, it will display a fake scan result window stating that your computer is heavily infected and that you should download RapidAntivirus in order to protect your computer.

This rogue usually slows your PC and causes system errors and slowdowns.

Virus Remover 2008 might be installed in your PC, though neither anyone has asked for your allowance nor any obvious signs of its presence have appeared. The latter attaches special danger to this malware; chances are very high for being under watch of spying program. This is not just nastily to be the object of watching even though there is no data for rascals to steal, they in the worst case still may take over your system and thus your I.P. will be involved into some tricky schemes. Moreover, if you send using Internet any private data, be aware Virus Remover 2008 is able to steal it.

Just to add to ceyfer excellent post,
If anyone is unfortunate to install one of these rogue antivirus programs,
MBAM/ Malwarebytes antimalware and SAS/ Superantispyware are the best tools to use to remove it,
MBAM/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
SAS/ http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag...PERANTISPYWARE
Alway save downloads {don;t run} then scan with a good antspyware program like the above before running them {installing}
