Windows 7 Winner
ALL, I'm one of the (lucky) Windows 7 winners and just found out I could download the ISO file and get it that way, what I need to know is, What to do with Vista, all my files, etc., (hope not too dumb of a question) before I put W7 on here..I know I need to back files up, but anything else?? I'm pretty new to this..

The question is... "Do you want to keep your Windows Vista?"
If you do... keep reading
NOTE: I suggest you backup your files to a storage device. As I cannot assure whether this will work or not.
This method will make you keep your "Vista" and also allow you to install Windows 7 in the same computer.
Before you proceed, make sure you burned the ISO file into a DVD Disc if you haven't check this out|Click HERE!

I posted this help just a few days ago...
What you need to do is to "split" (not literally
) your hard drive with a partition program, the space required to make Windows 7 installed [FOR ME] is AT LEAST 7Gb (The Raymond CC article link I posted above has a link on Easeus Partition Manager Home Edition.)
Run it, choose your hard drive (usually letter "C"). "Split" your hard drive(make sure the type of hard drive your about to create is "Logical" not "Primary" so you can always delete/resize the partitioned hard drive), it should require you to reboot for the action to take effect... Once it's finished, insert your Windows 7 disc then reboot. (If the disc isn't booted up first, you need to set your boot order so that the CD-Drive is booted up first. Here's a TUTORIAL on how to boot CD; if the the key that is said to be pressed to set the boot is not the key, test whether it's F1,F3-F12.)
Once you've finished configuring your boot order your Windows 7 disc should now boot, therefore allowing you to install it. Once your in the setup window appears select your hard drive then click next or install. Any other steps after that should be self explanatory.
Hope I helped xD

Oh by the way the method I just tried to walk you through was called Dual Boot. It allows you to switch between Windows OS every time you turn on your system.
If I were you I wouldn't give out the Windows 7 license code...
Search this forum and you'll find topics on Windows 7. Think of it this way Windows 7 = Windows XP + Windows Vista.

I would Dual boot if I were you. If your other OS goes bad or an error occurs you can boot to your other OS which makes it convenient if you have something you want to do ASAP.
OR
you can just install Windows 7 normally and overwrite your Vista. <-- after backing up your files
